How to delete your America Bitcoin account
This page is for the America Bitcoin ATM Wallet app and your account at account.americabitcoinatm.com, both from America Bitcoin ATM. Your account is the same in the app and on the web.
- In the app: open the Account screen and tap Delete account, then confirm.
- On the web: sign in below with the code we text to your phone, then confirm.
- Or call us at 888-437-7582 or email info@americabitcoinatm.com.
What we delete
- Your name, email address and profile, and the codes we emailed you.
- Your sign-ins: every website and app session ends, and your phones are removed from the account, with their notification tokens.
- The link between the account and your wallets. Pending ATM requests are cancelled.
- Promo texts are turned off.
- Your phone number is removed from the account, so it can be used for a new account.
What we keep, and for how long
Some records must be kept by law even after an account is deleted. They are kept only for those purposes and are not used for marketing.
- Identity verification (your ID check and selfie match, held by our verification provider, SumSub, and our compliance team), transaction records (ATM and Teller purchases, wallet addresses we paid to, ATM wallet requests) and compliance records: kept as US anti-money-laundering law (the Bank Secrecy Act) requires, generally 5 years, and longer only when the law or an investigation requires it.
- Consent records (your agreement to the selfie check, and your promo-text choices) and the account's security log (sign-ins and changes, with the phone number on the account): kept as evidence of what you agreed to and for fraud prevention, for the same period.
- Messages you sent to our help chat, kept with your support history for the same period.
Deleting your account doesn't touch your bitcoin: the wallet's keys stay on your phone. See our Privacy Policy for more.
